“Immerse Yourself in Way-out Art.”
Toronto Life, June 2008
Brian Joseph Davis

Running alongside the Scream Literary Festival’s series of readings is Eye Scream, a gallery exhibition of text-based art. The basement space of indie bookstore Type is taken over with works under the theme of copyright, collaborations and appropriation and includes contributions from Toronto’s Michael Maranda (infamous for publishing a drastic edit of Melville’s Moby Dick created with Microsoft Word’s Auto-summarize tool). Also expect salon talks by copyleftists and other people who know a thing or two about free.
July 3 to 14.
